2003 Results

  1. The Arizona State Championship will use one of the regularly scheduled events in the spring of 2004 in each venue for a "series."

Sierra Vista, SSCC (October 3, 2004)

Tucson, AZ Border Region SCCA (October 24, 2004)

Phoenix, AZ Region SCCA (December 5, 2004)

  2. Entrants in the State Championship will pay an entry fee of $30 at the first of the designated 3 events to cover the cost of the State Championship trophies and any local venue extras. Each hosting venue will receive $5 per entry for their own use. The remaining trophy fund money will be held by the AZ Region SCCA Solo II, who will make the final trophy purchases. After trophies are obtained, any excess funds will be refunded in equal amounts to each hosting venue. If there is a shortfall in covering the trophy costs, it will be covered by AZ Region SCCA Solo II.

  3. The entry fee covers all three events and no portion is refunded if an entrant misses an event.

  4. The selected events will be declared and published at least one month prior to the first event in the series.

  5. Best times from all three events will be added for final time. Entrant missing an event will receive a DNS and the maximum time for any ASC entry in that event. Entrants who drop out will NOT affect the number of trophies given. However, in order to receive a trophy an entrant must attend all three events and post times better than DNS or DNF at each event.

  6. Classes will be the regular SCCA Open classes given in the 2004 SCCA Solo II Rulebook, except for the Ladies Classes. In addition there will be three classes which will be scored based on the 2004 PAX factor for their appropriate open car class:

    a) PAX Ladies (PXL) for ladies wishing to compete in the Ladies Classes in the regular SCCA open classes listed in the 2004 Solo II Rulebook.

    b) Street Tire (ST) for any car running on tires with a wear index greater than or equal to 140 that does not conform to the open class STS or STX preparation rules.

    c) Street Tire Ladies (STL) for ladies competing in any car running on tires with a wear index greater than or equal to 140 that does not conform to the open class STS or STX preparation rules.

  7. Any car prepared for STS or STX with a legal STS or STX modification that is NOT allowed in the appropriate Stock, Street Prepared, Prepared, or Modified preparation rules MUST compete as an STS or STX Open Class car.

  8. Any car prepared for STS or STX that does not have any modifications that are not allowed in the appropriate Stock, Street Prepared, Prepared, or Modified preparation rules may compete in either the openSTS or STX class or an indexed class (as approporiate).

  9. PXL, ST and STL are the only classes that will be ranked on their PAX times. All other open classes will be ranked on their raw times.

  10. All classes must run together in the same run group at each event. This means that at any event where run group choice is possible those that are declared as being in the State Championship must be assigned to run in the same run group as others in their class in the State Championship. Different classes may run in separate run groups. Each venue may determine how classes of cars are grouped together.

  11. Car numbering and designations in each event are up to the hosting venue. There is no requirement to meet the SCCA Solo II Rulebook guideline for such car identification or numbering.

  12. Entrants in the State Championship must be residents of Arizona as evidenced by a valid AZ State Driver's License. Entrants in the State Championship must also be members of either the SCCA or the Sierra Sports Car Club (SSCC).

  13. Entrants in the State Championship must declare at registration that they are entered, so that they can be properly grouped and charged to added ASC entry fee at the first event.

  14. Trophies given according to the following plan:

    1 Entrant - 1 Trophy

    2-3 Entrants - 2 Trophies

    4-6 Entrants - 3 Trophies

    7 or more Entrants - 4 Trophies
