I just wanted to give a heads up to those that are planning to go to the Wendover Pro. I booked the Montego Bay for both the Tour and the Pro for $89 a night. There may be something else going on the weekend of the Pro, because non-smoking single Kings were sold out. Rooms at the Gold Nugget are $160 a night.

The Registration form is up for the April 3rd Special Event. The Arizona Region will be hosting our second Mirrorkhana Event. There will be no on site registration or online registration for this event. If you are interested, please submit your registration form as soon as possible, as we are limited to 64 entries due to the format. The cost of the event is $60 for members and $65 for non-members (covers fee for temporary memberships). For your entry fee you will receive 4 morning “qualifying runs”. The afternoon will be the “Double-Elimination” and the “Winners of the Losers” bracket. (Those of you who are eliminated in two runs will be eligible for the "Winners of the Losers" bracket.)

Overall, you will be guaranteed at least 7 runs and the winner, if they play their cards right, may receive up to 9 runs (dependent on reaching on entry cap). I have also included first event’s course map and will be replacing it with the new on as soon as it is completed.

We will be running three brackets SP+, ST1/ST2, and Stock. Staging distances will be based on PAX factors. Novices will be permitted with the Event Chair’s approval. If you have any questions, please send me an e-mail.

For those of you who are not familiar with a Mirrorkhana, it is a double elimination event. Two cars start on the opposite sides of the same course (but on adjacent straights) at the same time. The car that runs the course and reaches it’s own finish line first wins! Click on the link below and see videos and a demonstration of how the course is run.

If you are an SCCA member, please remember to bring your SCCA membership card to registration. All individuals who are in or near running cars (driving, riding, working course) must verify their SCCA membership or complete a Temporary Membership Form at the event. Once your membership has been verified you will receive a second wrist band. Grid workers will be checking to ensure that all participants and passengers comply with this requirement.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Dave and I are considering going to the Wendover Pro. Where do people usually stay? I noticed on the SCCA Forums that the casinos are at least $94 dollars a night. Maybe Priceline has spoiled me, but that seems expensive. Can anyone offer any other suggestions?
