Financial Review
- We are healthy overall but will need to
adjust rates if site costs go up significantly
Equipment Review
- Brian discussed the options and
advantages of buying a trailer especially with the ongoing issue of
increased setup and teardown times
- Brian has 100 cones in his garage, he's
going to get them to PIR this weekend
- Radios, not all critical positions have
the ability to have a radio (all worker positions, grid, waiver, starter,
timing, observer, chairman, tech, registration, SSS). All in attendance agreed that 3
additional radios would be purchased.
Additionally Brian will purchase a battery replacement for one
- PA system looks like crap and equipment
guys feels it’s going downhill.
Will propose possible upgrade/replacement once there is additional
storage capacity
- Scoreboard, holding off until we see
what the equipment logistics turn out to be trailer vs truck
- Awnings, we have plenty and are holding
off pending trailer
- Concern is that we only have one JA
Circuits timing box / Jim Rohn has been in
contact with the Corvette Club to purchase their used JA Circuits timing
equipment which is an identical setup to ours. Approval to purchase if price is
reasonable.
- Need a new line chaulker,
Brian will research into this and get back to us on options and
prices. FYI – PIR will only allow chaulk at this time.
This weekend we will not chaulk the
course
Tech Inspections
- A concern was brought up that the club
is not doing a sufficient job tech’ing cars
- The issue was identified as not having
enough man power
- At nearly 200 cars and only 3-4 tech
inspectors it only allows about 1 minute each
- Ted and his assistants will present
ideas/solutions to address this
- Some ideas were annual tech, only tech’ing groups A-C and then roaming tech for groups
D-H
- More details coming…
Fall Series
- I received an email from Jodi with the
following update: “Banquet is all
set for Jan 29, 05. Time 6pm-12pm.$20.00
inclusive per person. I will post on website soon. Trophies for this
series we are working on also.”
2005 Supplimental Rules
- No proposed changes
- Comment was brought up to ensure that
use of real names was included which was verified it is
Club Policies
- Tage/I feel very strongly that we owe it
to ourselves and our club members to document all club policies and make
them public
- Tage will dig up what he can and draft
them up for a S/C vote (target to have them completed is Jan 2005)
- Examples of policies needed or already
in place are: No work policy, S/C
office term policy, safe vehicle policy, Budget Policy, use of real names
policy
Chairman for 2005
- The chairman concept will continue for
2005 and we would like to get more dedicated and motivated members to
volunteer for this critical position and just have it be
100% S/C members. Tage will make a
public post on the details and benefits of being an event chairman
- Mark Johnson will volunteer for the 1st
event of 2005 to get things started
Pricing
Changes
- Pending
no major site cost differences the preregistration
costs will remain the same (this could change pending PIR costs though)
- All
S/C members agreed to increase onsite registration costs to encourange preregistration
- The
new cost will be $30 for onsite registration regardless of SCCA membership
or not
Voting
- 2005
Steering Committee member ballots were distributed and collected
- S/C
also voted on purchase of an equipment trailer to address equipment
storage concerns
- S/C
members not in attendance were emailed the ballot
- 2005
S/C member changes will be announced 12/05/04
